This water dispenser is perfect for my two small dogs. I got the 1.2 gallon size, and it lasts long enough that I do not feel like I am constantly filling it up. What I like most is that it does not come with or need a filter, since I give the dogs pre-filtered water anyway and buying replacement filters is aggravating. It is a little loud when it drops more water into the bottom, so be aware if you have timid animals that might be startled. Both of my dogs have no problem using it. Overall, I am very pleased and hope it lasts a long time. I would happily repurchase it.
I needed something for my dogs, and this holds a fair amount and dispenses water well. However, two things could be improved. First, a handle on the bottle part would make it easier to carry from the fill point to the bowl. I know if it were hollow, moisture might lead to mold if water sat, but I empty it daily so it does not stagnate. Second, some sort of clip or strap to hold the bottle in place would help; once it lightens up, it can easily be knocked out of the bowl.
I like how much water it holds, and it seems not to leak.
I love this waterer. I have ten dogs and use two waterers and two feeders. It makes my life much easier. I recommend placing the water away from the feeder because my large dogs sometimes drop food into the water while drinking, which fouls the water and requires changing.

Getting the top off requires hugging it and twisting hard. They are definitely not made like they used to be. The dogs are not really fans because sometimes when they drink and it starts to refill, it gurgles, which frightens them. I read other reviews saying the gurgling freaks other dogs out as well.
I love these auto-waterers. I got one for my porch and one for the kitchen. They are small so they do not get in the way, but they hold half a gallon, so they last a few days, and no debris gets in. I have two indoor cats and a stray that love to drink their water on the porch. These are perfect.
This is the best water bowl I have ever used for my outdoor dogs; it is heavy duty, can handle temperature extremes, and will not break.
